The Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg is one of the youngest universities in Germany: it was founded in 1993. Located in Magdeburg, the Capital city of Saxony-Anhalt and has about 13.000 students in nine faculties. Students can choose from a variety of disciplines in the fields of computer science, economics, humanities, medicine, engineering, and information technology.

The university issues international academic journals in the fields of computer science and analytical, experimental and numerical mechanics. Besides, the university supports the international community of students and the diversity of their cultures.
