Hungarian Diaspora scholarship programme is a unique opportunity to explore your cultural heritage while receiving a high-quality education in Hungary. The programme was established by the Hungarian Government for those who have Hungarian roots and live outside the European Union. The University of Pannonia is proud to make its own contribution to strengthening the connections between Hungary and the Hungarian diaspora communities.
Focus on your studies while your study and living expenses are covered by the scholarship
The provisions of the scholarship include tuition-free education and monthly stipend, medical insurance and contribution to travel costs. While the essential expenses of the students are covered, they can focus on their academic and career advancement. Each campus of the University of Pannona is located in a picturesque, calm environment, which also contributes to the perfect study atmosphere.
Reconnect to your cultural heritage
The mission of the programme is to help the members of Hungarian community strengthen their Hungarian identity. The University of Pannonia provides a variety of opportunities for students to explore rich Hungarian culture and improve their Hungarian language skills through courses and extracurricular activities, such as Hungarology and Hungarian dance class.
Student support and mentor programme
Even though many of the scholarship awardees are already familiar with the Hungarian culture and mentality, it can still be challenging for them to adapt to the new environment. The mentor programme of the University of Pannonia is designed to help newcoming students accommodate in the new country and go through all the paperwork procedures. Besides, an important part of the mentor programme is the organization of intercultural events, such as international potluck party, board game night or a trip to another city. During these events, scholarship holders can meet other Hungarian and international students and become a part of the friendly and inclusive student community.
